White Box with Neurotoxins

20th June 2018

When it comes to intense moments while white boxing snakes for the species guide, the coral snake (Micrurus obscurus) is certainly a challenge. Untamed Photography coordinator Mark Fernley proceeded to white box the live specimen with Herp Coordinator Dylan Singer with interns observing from afar due to the danger of the snake. Precautions were taken into account during the shoot that was done successfully.

We later leleased the individual into the location that it was found in floodplain, Las Piedras, Madre de Dios, Peru.
